You could see if you can trace where he is buried and see if there are any other people in the grave who may be family members ?

You can rule out all these cemeteries as they were not open when he died. You would need to look at church grave yards, starting with the one nearest to his death
West Road Crematorium and Cemetery (opened 1934)
All Saints Cemetery (opened 1857)
Heaton Cemetery (opened 1890)
Elswick/St Johns Cemetery (opened 1856)
Hollywood Cemetery (opened 1943)
Jesmond Old Cemetery (opened 1836)
Lemington Cemetery (opened 1906)
North Gosforth Cemetery (opened 1878)
St Andrews Cemetery (opened 1857)
St Nicholas Cemetery (opened 1858) ----------------------------------------------------------- Churches near his place of death
St Mary's Cathedral
St John The Baptist Church
The Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas

The William born 15 March 1805 would have turned 19 of the time of the burial 13 April 1824 (they buried pretty quickly) so would that not imply that it's the William born 2 December 1805 - son of William?
