ScotlandsPeople doesn't show him as a son of Archibald and Isabella, 1830-41 - for what that's worth!

This is the only Archibald McKichan (or variant spelling) showing up on SP around 1832 - although there are so many possible variants of the name that SP's probably not picking up on all of them:
