Find Ancestors

Hello i am researching my g grandmothers sister .frances budd .she was b 1861.in Hartlepool . the information i have so far ...is that frances went to live in lewersham .after her mother died in 1869..she lived with her fathers sister and her husband frances and george ware .they where publicans in a pub called the railway inn..dont know how long she spent there with them ...i know that frances married in hartlepool i think 1881..to james summers ..and i dont think she could have children ..there was rumers that she could of adopted 2 children ..i was also told that she had been an actress.known as fanny budd...the only info i found was on a 1891 census where it states that she was an actress in southsheilds jarrow ..119 high st and boarding with her was a desybvies family francisco .aged 31.mary .20.and francisco aged 9. they where circus performers from mexico ..i havent been able to find anything of her as an actress.in 1911 i think she is a shopkeeper .still living in south sheilds ..i havent found a death for her .can anyone help .or advise me many thanks ...

This is only a possibility - I wonder if she had a second marriage? There is a marriage registered in S.Shields in the Dec quarter 1937 of a Frances Summers to Thomas R. Proud. Both appear together in the 1939 Register. Her birth year is given there as 1863 and his as 1865,

There is a death for a Frances Proud registered in S. Shields in March qu. 1944 in S Shields aged 80.

Hi thank you it could be a possability . i do know that james summers died before frances .and that could also be why i couldnt find a death for her thank you .

The 1891 you mention for reference - original says born East Hartlepool

There is only the one birth registration for a Frances Budd in Durham 1861+/- 2 years (not definitive as there was no penalty for not registering a birth until the 1870's).

So, I wonder if this could be her in 1881, her place of birth just listed as the area in which she worked

Got there ! Transcribed as Simmons on Find My Past (have reported transcription error, but looking at the original I'm not sure they'll buy it, although Ancestry has it correctly). No occupation for Frances.
