Hi Mary, you have not got the hang of the boards yet :-)
Look on the left and you will see 'My threads' in the list under tools
you will see all the threads you have started or posted in
just go back to the right one and add to it
... you have quite a few posts, so google is a quicker way to find some threads
search for
'philip hyde' 'marysroots'
here is one
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1259741
and instead of replying there you started a new one ...
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/trying_to_find/hyde/thread/1259743
but in fact, from that first one, it seems you had an earlier one ...
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/trying_to_find/hyde/thread/1247902
too many posts about the same family / person
it means that people don't know what has been found for you in the past
you should always go back to an existing thread and add to it
at this point it really is all a bit of a mess
so I'll just add here some things AnnCardiff had put in an earlier thread so everyone knows they have been found
and continue in this thread I suppose at this point
marriage: 17 Oct 1808 — Sedgley, Stafford, England groom's name: Phillip Hyde bride's name: Mary Skitt marriage date: 17 Oct 1808 marriage place: Sedgley, Stafford, England indexing project (batch) number: M13532-3 system origin: England-EASy source film number: 1040791
(actually the other things there don't seem to relate to Philip)
this is the 1841 census
Name: Philip Hyde Age: 50 Estimated birth year: abt 1791 Where born: Staffordshire, England Civil Parish: Sedgley Hundred: North Seisdon County/Island: Staffordshire Registration district: Dudley
no other Hyde family is with him
|
keep in mind that 'age 50' in the 1841 census does *not* mean he was born in 1791 !!
ages were rounded down, so he could have been born 1787 to 1791
*or* the person who reported his age may not have done it accurately ... '50' is just a nice round number ... but in any case, it actually looks to me like it says '56' not '50' ...
the burial record is in one of your other threads
County Staffordshire Place Sedgley Church Christ Church (Coseley) RegisterNumber 1287 >> BurialDate 25 Aug 1842 Forename Philip Surname HYDE >> Age 53
that means he was born in 1788 or 1789 ... if it was accurate
do you know who Philip's and Mary's children were, and could you put that information here please?
a Philip and Mary Hyde couple had numerous children in Bilston and I am wondering whether that could be them
|
this seems to be the 'other' Philip and Mary Hyde couple
Name Phillip Hyde Spouse's Name Mary Jones Event Date 14 May 1804 Event Place Dawley Magna,Shropshire,England
Mary was in Bilston with a son (grandson?) in 41 and 51
that Mary was born in Shropshire so this is probably that Philip's baptism
Name Philip Hide Gender Male Christening Date 25 Mar 1787 Christening Place DAWLEY MAGNA,SHROPSHIRE,ENGLAND Father's Name George Hide Mother's Name Elizabeth
... okay you have in your tree
John Hyde 1824 Deepfields Sedgley
this is him in 1841, in a Gough household?
Name: John Hyde Age: 15 Estimated birth year: abt 1826 Gender: Male Where born: Staffordshire, England Civil Parish: Tipton Hundred: South Offlow County/Island: Staffordshire Registration district: Dudley
(and in later censuses shown born Sedgley)
familysearch shows numerous Hyde births in Sedgley in the early 1800s, none to a Philip and Mary couple, but if they married and he died there, we would expect to see children born there?

Yes JoonieCloonie I do know about the threads I thought it would be easier for anyone trying to help to have the info I have without going through old threads I am trying to find his birth I have all the other i don't see a problem I have his death certificate 1842 Age 53
My 2nd great grandfather Philip's son was John b1822 Deepfields Staffordshire

no, really, it is easiest if you don't keep starting new threads about the same people :-)
(that's why the guidelines for using the boards say not to do that)
so we're back where I started
how do you know that the Philip who married Mary in 1808, and the Philip who died in 1842, are the same person, and is the father of John 1822?
do you have a baptism record for John 1822?
this is your John in 1851?
Name: John Hyde Age: 29 Estimated birth year: abt 1822 Relation: Head Spouse's Name: Sarah Hyde Gender: Male Where born: Deepfields, Staffordshire, England Civil Parish: Sedgley Ecclesiastical parish: Coseley County/Island: Staffordshire Country: England Name Age John Hyde 29 Sarah Hyde 29 John Hyde 1
so you have a record showing he was born in early 1822, and are not just taking his dob from the census?
there are two John Hydes born Sedgley with wife Sarah in in the censuses, very annoyingly!
if yours is the one with son Philip, his age varies 1822, 1823, 1824 in the censuses (possibly getting younger as he aged, as many people did)
this is John's marriage as I recall from looking at one of the other threads
County Worcestershire Place Dudley Church name St Thomas Register type Unspecified Register entry number 84 Marriage date 24 May 1847 Groom forename John Groom surname HYDE Groom age of full age Groom condition bachelor Groom abode Dudley Groom occupation Miner Bride forename Sarah Bride surname JACKSON Bride age of full age Bride condition spinster Bride abode Dudley > Groom father forename Philip > Groom father surname HYDE > Groom father occupation Miner (deceased) Bride father forename James Bride father surname JACKSON Bride father occupation Glazier (deceased) Witness1 forename Joseph Witness1 surname HILL Witness2 forename James Witness2 surname SMITH
your surmises about father Philip are likely correct, except for the birth year, but they do seem to be only surmises
this is indeed probably the burial of the other Philip (born in Shropshire, children baptised in Bilston)
Philip HYDE Burial 10 Jul 1823 Staffordshire Bilston (St Leonard)
so again, your surmises look reasonable
family search is supposed to have Sedgeley baptisms
C009984 1809-1830 (but your John is not there) C009982 1686-1786 & C009983 1787-1793 (but your Philip is not there)
but ... for John ... Deepfields is near Coseley? and the IGI has only
Coseley In Sedgley C037861 1830-1856
so that could explain the absence of a baptism at familysearch.org
it seems that you have to find a way of searching the relevant parish records if you want to find your Philip's (and John's?) baptism
or see whether someone here has access or will do lookups on site
I'd recommend making your subject line more informative to get the attention of anyone who might have such access
something like
'Philip Hyde birth pre 1791, Staffordshire, parish records?'

Hello, I have Philip on John's marriage cert to Sarah in 1847 it says father Philip deceased which would fit with Philhp's death 1842
How I traced back is from my father George William Cleaton Hyde b1910 – d1979 born Princess End,Tipton His father George Cleaton b1884 d1943 John Hyde b 1850 d1925 John Hyde b abt 1822 no death date Then Philip Hyde b abt 1789 who's birth I'm looking for How I got Philip's date birth is from his death certificate 1842 age 53 which I know may not be exact
You will find if it says Sedgley or Dudley on some searches they could be from Bilston, Tipton,or Coseley which all came under Sedgley back then and Sedgley was part of Dudley and Dudley was Staffordshire then Worcestershire Hope I have not confused you altogether
As for Philip's marriage to Mary I cannot be 100% but as of yet it is the only marriage for Philip I have found I also found a death for a Mary Hyde 1832 but once again not 100% but it would explain why she is not on the 1841 census with Philip
I really do appreciate any help and if you find an error please let me know
Regards Mary :-)
