I've found them on the 1881 census at 43 Brady street, Bethnal Green. He was 30 and she was 20. She was born in Wales. But I can't find their marriage or her birth. Her maiden name could have been Cook or Ince or Bird but this is a guess. Know there isn't much to go on but can anyone help. |

Have you found them on any other census? Did they have any children? Where have you got the three possible maiden names from? |

Ince and Bird are on the 1881 census at the same address and the birthplaces are the same ie Wales. Cook is a surname that I remember being banded about and thought it was that side of the family. They definitely had a son called Henry born 1885 but no idea how many others. |

If the birth of their son Henry in 1885 was in Bethnal Green then there are only two possibilities:- |

The Ince and Bird families are at the same address but on different schedules - and are dittoed for Middlesex, Bethnal Green (ignoring the Wales Llanelli on the line directly above them) |

Sorry, I'm having too much trouble opening images on Findmypast to be able to look up anything at the moment. I'll have to leave it. |

I'm not sure that either of the two births I posted above are "your" Henry as I have found two Henry's born 1885 and 1886 in the 1891 census in Bethnal Green and neither have Henry and Eliza as parents, so don't buy these certificates until you have more evidence. |

Snap Kath - FMP is a real pain at the moment. I keep closing it down and re-opening and at least get somewhere! |

My grandad, Henry Taylor, married Sarah Fitzgerald 8/12/1912 and I have the original certificate. It states the grooms father is Henry Taylor, deceased, occupation Hackney carriage driver. Address was 3 Princes Court. The family have all gone now so no one to ask unfortunately but I do believe they all came from the east end of London. |

Can you give ALL the details from the marriage certificate please. And still need to know how you got back to Henry and Eliza in 1881 as that census has Henry as a General Dealer |
