I am trying to find out more about my Great Grandfather Robert Williams b c1872 I know he married Miriam Mercy Clapson b1868 do not know when as can not find marriage my Grandfather Robert Edward Williams b 1903 in London where they were living in Southham St Kennington ? Miriam's family came from Sussex but as Robert Williams is such a common name I am struggling to move forward if anyone can help or suggest my next move I would be greatful of the help this is the last branch of my family tree I have to crack and just cant get over this huddle regard s Peter

That is very intresting thankyou Austin my Grandfather was also Robert Edward so he may have been given my Great Grandfathers two Christian names my Grandfather apparently died in 1957 a few weeks after a car crash in the Tunbridge wells area thankyou for yours and everyones help I have been looking a while but just can not find my Great Grandparents marriage or birth records which may lead me to my Great Grandfathers parents but With these new bits of info and advise I may just crack the Williams line of my family

Sevenoaks Chronicle and Kentish Advertiser - Friday 16 March 1923
Furious Driving at Mount Pleasant- Edward Williams was summoned for riding a bicycle furiously so as to endanger the lives and limbs of passengers at Mount Pleasant Road on March 5th. He was also summoned for riding without a light at the same place and time.
Defendant pleaded guilty to both summonses... Defendant... had been employed on the railway as a platelayer, but was now out of work. He was20 years of age.
The Chief Constable said that the defendant came from a respectable family living at Langton, and had never been summoned before... Fined 7s 6d

Eddward Williams of Adamswell Crossing, Frant was summoned for purchasing a rifle from James Joseph Miles without holding a firearms license on October 23rd. Defendant stated that he had a gun license and thought that would cover the rifle. He was fined 5s.

Any sign of the family in 1911,I can't seem to find any of them. Robert Williams 1872 seems to have a varied worklife,1898 he was down as a baker.
