Is this the Thomas you refer to. The original shows he was born on Compton Chamberlain. again not far from Tilbury and Ansty and if he moved there as a young child may have thought that was where he was born.

Many thanks for your information, but I'm still not sure if I have the right William, father of Thomas 1818. Is his parents William & Mary ? or William & Elizabeth BATH?
