Member Since: July 2005 Posts: 10,727 Send Message	The majority of the bmd information is available in this free to use site (although don't forget to tick the box for "phonetic search surnames" to bring up e.g. Spark/Sparke http://www.freebmd.org.uk In combination with access to census information you should be able to find all this information for yourself - have a try to see if you can follow yourself what we've found here

My paternal grandmother's name was Kathleen Mary Scott née Shield (1918-2014). She grew up in Allenheads, Northumberland where her family ran a hotel and farm. She had an elder sister named Joyce Coxon, a younger sister named Iris (who emigrated to Vancouver, Canada) and a younger brother named John Shield (all deceased). When Kathleen married she lived in Gosforth, Tyne and Wear for some time then moved to Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear where she lived for the rest of her life. I know nothing about Kathleen's parents although I think her father's name was John. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
