I am trying to discover more info about my great-grandparents who were both from the Tyne and Wear region. They lived in Washington, Tyne and Wear at Troyville, Well Bank Road. The name of my great-grandmother was Jane Amelia Scott - her maiden name may have been Turnbull (not sure on this). I believe Jane Amelia was an English teacher who had taught in Africa. I do not know the name of my great-grandfather...all I know is he owned a store in Washington, Tyne and Wear and died between 50-60 years of age. They had a son named Thomas who was born in 1912.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I can't see the birth of a Thomas Scott with mms Turnbull born 3rd quarter 1911- 4th quarter 1913.

Either his year of birth, or your guess at his mother's maiden name, is wrong.
Or Thomas wasn't his first name.

Nor do I see the marriage of a Jane Amelia to a Scott, 1880-1915.

My grandfather's full name was Thomas Turnbull Scott (1912-1990) and his wife was Kathleen Mary Scott née Sheild (1918-2014) if this is any help?

Could this be your grandfather's birth? Mother's maiden name was Cooke.
