Hello I am looking for Jessie Belmur Hunter Stainborough who married John Lang Allan her death
She was born in Carlisle in1871 but in 1881 living on Edinburgh then Stirling married 1892 kelvin Glasgow...not sure if she ever remarried

Hello Marie trying to find where Jessie or John lang Allan went after they married in 1892 or did they have a family between 1892 and 1899 I have found an army record for john lang allan but thought it might be there son has john would have been in his 50s then

To find out if they had children you need Scotland's People website which is pay to view .

You could check on the name you have for his birth on their and it will give his parents names

As she remaried you can also check for s death for her hubby on the same site

If this is her then she hasn't any children with her

Not sure about that census Shirley as her second marriage was in Hutchesontown and her death was registered in Govanhill just a couple of miles along the road.

Pauline, in Scotland it is quite usual for a woman's remarriage to be indexed using her maiden surname. Her re-marriage is probably also indexed using her married name but I only searched using her maiden name.

Was there a John Lang Allan born 1853 Glasgow who married Jessie and is there any death for him before Jessie married Smith

It is possible that the informant did not give his middle name and therefore it won't appear on the index.

I did have a look at the second marriage certificate and Jessie has given her status as Spinster when she married Jeremiah James Barnes Smith. Jeremiah was a Wine and Spirit Merchant and 10 years Jessie's senior. Jessie's parents, George Stanborough and Isabella m.s. McAuslan were both deceased.

I had the same parents for her thank you so much
