Elaine - you should be able to PM Jan...click on her name and it should bring up message. There's no restriction about family ties...I'll prove it by PM'ing you!
Only reason would be if you were not a member and as you are posting on these boards that rules that out!

Hi Jan,
Sorry, internet went down on Sat and only just come back up. I have tried to PM you but genes reunited don't allow personal emails to be sent unless we have a family connection. Unless you know of another way?

That's OK. There are 2 options. You can join Ancestry, perhaps on a 14-day free trial, or if you feel OK about it PM me your email address and I'll pass it on. Jan

Hi Jan,
Cornelius definitely rings a bell with me, I remember my mum taking me to see him when I was a little girl, but they didn't call him Cornelius they called him Nailie (don't know how they spelt it though), he was my great uncle. I have vague memories of someone else being there too, I think she was called Tina but not sure. I hope the other tree owner is as delighted as I am, maybe I should join ancestry too, so we can share family connections.
Thanks Jan you're a star.

Wow, that's great research isn't it. Just to say I did contact the Ancestry tree owner, who has now replied. She says her great-grandfather was their sibling Cornelius, if that rings a bell. However she too couldn't find out anything about the twins. She does now though! Jan

Name: George W Armeneau Spouse Surname: Smith Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1944 Registration district: Prescot Inferred County: Lancashire Volume Number: 8b Page Number: 1208

I wonder if Margaret's middle name was Ellen, and IF that grave for George and Ellen is actually for these tow, ie the son and daughter-in-law of Elizabeth and Daniel?

Thank you all very much for your time and effort. I really appreciate your help and assistance.
MarieCeleste, I am amazed, my mum and her sister Pat went to visit cousins in Alberta, Canada when I was a little girl but because their surname was Armeneau, I never made the connection. You can probably hear the penny drop :-) I was unaware of Elizabeth's existence so had been searching for George Jones only. I have managed to find a copy of Elizabeths headstone on the canadianheadstones.com website. I don't know how to thank you. As there's a George Armeneau headstone too, I'm wondering if they were adopted by the Armeneau family but sooo happy that they survived and lived long lives. Huge thanks to everyone .

The records for the school are held at the Lancashire Archives. It may be worth contacting them.

Elaine...Elizabeth was still there 1911...I found this (1911 Census)..
184 JONES, Elizabeth Inmate F 10 1901 School Lancs Lpool .
I don't have access to the Census but someone had transcribed the above Census when searching for someone also there.
You could also check the "Home Children" data base if you have no luck finding her.. http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/immigration/immigration-records/home-children-1869-1930/immigration-records/Pages/immigration-records.aspx

Hi Elaine.
I copied the baptism records directly from Ancestry - not sure what those letters stand for, but they are obviously references so the records can be located. ID is identity I guess, FHL might be Family History Library perhaps?
You do have to be an Ancestry member to view trees, however the one I referred to is private, so slthough a member I can't view them either!
If you want me to contact the tree owner, quite happy to.

FHL stands for Family History Library (Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City).
You can order the films of baptisms from your nearest LDS Family History Centre. You can find your nearest centre here:-
