There are some records for Youghal Arra in the new collection of Irish Parish Registers |

that is interesting about Matthew, His sisters Catherine and Margaret definitely come to Victoria Australia. I wonder if it is him? Yes we have been looking for a marriage at that parish and only found the births and no marriages, was hoping someone could find a "Freeze" in Ireland somewhere. I don't think it would be a common name. |

The one who died in Massachusetts was 73, so the age isn't far out. |

Kerrynk...Yes the naming pattern did follow as you suggest..but be aware that the first child you find may not actually be the "first born" this follows through subsequent births ...so using the apparent first born's name as an indication of the Paternal grandfathers name can cause problems unless you have the year/ date of the Parents marriage...eg Patrick and Mary married approx. 1830...could be 1828/1829 therefore time for at least 1 child to have been born before Mathew 1832... |

After a very quick look through the marriages in Youghal Arra between 1828 and 1831 I can't see the one between Patrick and Mary, however there is a marriage for a Robert Freeze of Kelmore to Sarah Moloney in 1829, could possibly be a brother. |

Thanks Beverley, yes I have looked through from the earliest and can't find the marriage, I did find Robert Freeze and assume that may be Mary's brother. Freeze doesn't seem a common name over there. We did find one additional birth for them that we never had and that was John in 1836. Catherine is still a mystery as she is the second born I think and not on the lists. |
