thankyou to everyone for their replies, I had some information on him, but it was the time he was in service, I have been trying to find, I heard he was taken prisoner by the germans, and suffered from the gas, but I have only been able to get his medal roll, I do not know if he fought at the somme or elsewhere in france, ancestry cannot help, or forces war records, I just wondered if anyone out there is related to his family. :-) |

There are 2 Public Family trees on ancestry for your grandfather, which seem to be well researched ................ one has22 attached records and 22 sources, which indicates documentation of what is on the tree. This tree also has a photo of him in what looks like Horse Guards uniform |

He's on a tree on Ancestry that has a photo of him in quite a fancy uniform with breastplate, long white kid gloves and wearing a sword. He's holding a helmet with a big plume on top. There's also another photo of him in later years. |
