If, as the 1841 census states, Henry Lewis was born in the County this could be his Baptism |

This looks to be Henry Lewis' Burial which fits in with the Bap |

Yes Martha and Henry did marry in 1822, but had all their children before that date consequently they retained their mothers maiden name and did not change it to Lewis after they married. I check their marriage record but as both her parents if they are Nicholas and Elizabeth were dead in 1822 there in nothing on the record to give me a clue. You will note that Henry's son William b.1792-1831 was sentenced to death for robbery, but was reprieved at the last minute to be transported but died in one of the hulks moored off the Essex coast. Thank you again. Keith |

Londonbelle, Everything you have found is absolutely correct. I can tell you everything in that family, which included my greatgrandfather William Trotman b.1838 age 3 is a mess, but I was able to sort it out. My father came from a family of twelve plus his parents, so my grandfather was born in 1872. After the death of Martha in 1825 Henry her husband when to live with his granddaughter Mary Lewis Trotman age in fact 24 and as you say Mary Knight is the older Mary in that census age 45. |
