Find Ancestors

Arthur was born in Hull in 1904 . I believe he married Elizabeth in Belfast, she was Irish. I think his first 2 children, Arthur and Alice were born in Belfast.
Was back in Hull in 1930
Family story says that he was a Police Officer early in his life, can find no records in Hull or East Riding. May have been in the RUC?

Can't find any records of members of RUC, or his marriage, or of Alice and Arthurs births.

Any help with these Irish records would be greatly appreciated.

There are several births for Arthur in Yorkshire around that time so how do you know you are following the right man

No marriages on scotlandspeople

Cannot see any marriage in either Ireland or England

According to a tree (don't know how accurate or not it is) this is the sons marriage

The tree states the son is George Arthur Townend born Aug 1931, Belfast. No mention of a daughter 'Alice'

That is the correct Arthur. I 've got his marriage cert. as I wanted to check his Fathers full name.
I have the 1911 census, where his Father just signs his name George, but the marriage cert confirms he is George Henry (which he appears as in the previous censuses)
As I am sure of this info I have traced back futher
George Henry's parents Henry Townend 1855-1912 and Sarah Walker 1855-1919
Henry's parents George Townend 1821-1883 and Jane Pattison (1824-1899)

It is the time he spent in Ireland I can find no record of.

sorry if my replies are a bit disjointed (new to messaging!)

Elizabeth Carson we are sure of, Arthur died in 1950 after having Doreen 1930. Wm 1934, Iris 1835, Fred 1937, Vincent 1940, Michael 1942 in Hull.
She later remarried Frank Middleton

I should have said birth cert, of course, not marriage cert.!! for Arthur (1904). Sorry to confuse you.

There is a marriage for an Alice E Townend to an Albert Blanchard - 1950, Hull

It looks like Alice E Blanchard died in 1994, Hull. Her date of birth is given as Nov 9th 1928

That's the Alice, didn't know when she died. So, now I have her birthdate, thanks.
How did you get her death record, didn't think came up if the event was after 1983?

She must have been born in Ireland.
Reading the info on Groni site, I don't think I'd be able to get info about her.
Will certainly try for Arthur & Elizabeth's marriage tho. Didn't know you could get info online from that site,

Edit: I have a death certificate for a woman who died in 1974. It gives her maiden name and date/place of birth

It might be worth sending for Alice' death certificate
