Julie - does Richard's age on his marriage record tally with the age on the service records? I have sometimes found ages on service records to be inaccurate. |

Which of the deaths in 1959 is your Richard? If the one in Bangor Reg District he was aged 72 when he died which would mean DOB would be around 1887. |

Hi Malyon, thanks for your suggestion, unfortunately I don't think that birth record is the one im looking for, according to his WW1 record he signed up on the 1st September 1914 and was 24yr 41days old, that would put his birthday about the 22nd July, so he wouldn't of been registered until the 3rd quarter... |

The military record says he was 24 yrs 41 days old on 1st Sept 1914, which would make his birthday 21st July 1890, if my arithmetic's correct. |

Hi, I'm trying to find information on my mother in laws grandfather, His name is Richard Thomas b. 1890 - 1959 Bangor North Wales, He married Margaret Ellen Roberts in 1914 in Holyhead Anglesey (she was b.1889 in Holyhead d.1967 Bangor North Wales) Although he married in holyhead they both set up home back in Bangor, during the 1920's I belive they lived in the Glanadda area, possibly Caernarfon road or hendrewen, then during the 1930's moved to Trem Elidir, according to his marriage certificate his father was also called Richard Thomas, I did find a WW1 record but that didnt offer anything new to go on, I cant seem to pin point where in Bangor he may have come from or which family he may belong to, nor can I narrow down anything in regards to the 1911 census or birth, Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? can anyone shed some light on the whereabouts of Richard Thomas prior to to his marriage?? |
