Hi,everybody.Looking for help again.
Thomas was born,c.1834 in Byers Green,Co.Durham.A couple of references say he died in Hamburg,Germany in 1869.One reference actually said he was murdered in the docks.I was wondering if any one could find any details or record
of his death?Why he would be there?Bit of a mystery.

On other trees on Ancestry they have that he was murdered but there is nothing on these trees that backs it up and they all seem to have info from one anothers trees.

In the 1861 census he was with the Durham Constabulary Force. Could he have been over there on police business?

Thanks for your replies,everyone.I'm not sure if there was a blockade going on at that time.Some war or something?? Was he maybe in the Merchant Navy?? As I said it is all a bit of a mystery.

Have you tried the local newspapers published at the time please? I would think that a local man being murdered in Germany would be fairly newsworthy.
