I ought to have added that, according to what I've seen, Hannah Umpleby's (nee Givens) eldest child was born in Northumberland and died in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The rest of their children stayed south.

I can see that the London baptism could well be the correct Mary, Yvonne, thank you.

The info I've found show that Hannah Givens, born in Northumberland also married a Humpleby in the same church (St Anne's, Soho) as Mary Givens and John Titilah. Perhaps everyone has simply put Hannah and Mary together and managed to make three!

I have a quandary about Mary's parents.

Mary married John Titilah (first) in 1794 at St Anne's, Soho then Thomas Statham (second) in Northumberland. Her children with John were both born in Northumberland.

I have checked several trees and records and while almost all trees give Mary's parents as Thomas Givens and Mary Richardson, all of their other children appeqr to have been baptized in the Presbyterian Meeting House, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland (from 1769 - Elizabeth to 1775 - Thomas). Nobody has any idea of Mary's birthdate or baptism and it seems strange to me that it is missing.

I have typed various versions - Givens, Givers, Guivers, Gibens - but not found anything like a baptism for Mary. Is it possible that everyone has her parents wrongly listed as I'm certain that if all of her siblings were baptized in the Presbyterian Meeting House then she would have been too? Everyone?
