joyceheprad1 added this on 17 Oct 2012 William Hepburn was my father. When he was born his parents, Samuel Richardson Hepburn and Christina Richardson Gow Hepburn named him Samuel Richardson Hepburn. My father told me that when he was very young his parents changed his name to William Reynolds Hepburn. As his name appears in the 1910 census as Samuel Richardson Hepburn I think it was at some point after that. This name change has caused confusion for other researchers as well. I am his only child, Joyce Elaine Hepburn, born June 17, 1942. My mother was Rose Frances Bailey Hepburn. Dad did have two stepchildren as well, but they retained the last name of their father. You may rely on the accuracy of my information regarding my father. Every legal document has his name as William Reynolds Hepburn. His sisters called him William or Will, but everyone else called him Bill. The birth and death dates are correct, as well as the locations.

I have Georgina Richardson Gow b 1873 Edinburgh If someone can check when she went to USA, On ancestry she got married to Samuel Hepburn 1896 USA.
also if I can have a look up for her father James Andrew Gow b 1835, He was in Scotland in 1901 when his wife died but some one has that he died in USA 1901
date is possibly wrong but could I have a check on passenger list to see if he did go to USA
