Hi We have, in our family tree a lady by the name of Oram Jeffries (various spellings), who appears to have had an aunt with a similar name. Does anyone else have this unusual name appear in their family tree and if so, do you have any idea where it comes from.
Oram Jeffries was born about 1854 in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and her aunt about 20 years earlier.
I would be grateful for any information to help explain this unusual first name.
Thank you
Stacey

Not mother's maiden name... maybe comes from further back, or from father's side.
