Hi, I am looking for an Anna Bjornsen she was born 1891 in Norway and arrived in UK as a young woman. She married a William Blair in 1925 and left that year for NZ. I have checked ancestry and saw two entries for that name that era, and would like to know the information please. I have also found her and William arriving in NZ on the Mahino from Sydney, in 1925, but can't find them leaving UK . William Blair was born 1877 costerfieldnorway Victoria Australia and was a sailor, also haven't found him entering UK Any help would be much appreciated Thank you Dawn in N

Hi, thank you for looking these up for me. That will be them as he ended up helping to build dams here in NZ and an engineer, but he had been on sailing ships.
He was born in Australia still haven't found him arriving in UK
Interesting about her, apparently two siblings went to the states I wonder if the second one would be her? But quite young? Was told by the lady who I am doing this for that she cooked for the Norwegian royal family? And she did know the lady, her grandmother as she died in 1980 age 89

Hi, thank you for that, I did see the second one born NSW on the index and wondered. If he was on the 1911 it would give a few years for him to be single again? Also my friend did say, there was 'something' about the family some disagreement about something! And yes that is his birth and full name Hmmmm and as we know things are often never straight forward in family research! Thanks so much again!

Just remembered I did see on the census when I put in just Bjornsen that there was a Bjorn Bjornsen in stepney from Norway in 1911 and I did find her birth in Norway in 1891 and her fathers name was Bjorn! So maybe this was a brother? And how they met?

Hi, thank you for all the info. Wondering if you could check the 1911 for the Bjorn Bjornsen born 1893 Norway, to see if the image gives more info than the bit I can see? Maybe the same ship? I must see if I can find William leaving Australia from that side and see if there are any more records of him leaving as it could easily of happened given his age. Will try and find a marriage and any signs of him back in Australia after 1911! Maybe this is the secret 'something'? Why if he is Australian didn't they stay in australia? Why go straight on to NZ? I will ask my friend when her mother was born so then know for definite when they were here.
