Hi Jacqueline they had a son named James born abt 1859-60 he is not with his mother in 1861 she is with her parents in Ardwick down as Brooks married no sign of Edward..but there is a child named James Brooks born in Manchester 1859 at the Hunts Bank Cheetham Hospital Infirmary Manchester..that could be him..but I can'tfind the family as a unit.James moves to Liverpool and marries there in 1883. |

The only reason the child would be registered as Brooks would be if his mother had him with a man other than her husband, which would have been a bit soon after a marriage in mid-1858 |

Hi Jac sorry..Edward only has Full age on his marriage cert..so that's part of the problem..I also said son James might be in the Hunts Bank Infirmary in 1861 it was 1871 sorry...I cannot find him in 1861, don't know why he's not with his mother... |

Have you investigated this marriage as she is showing as Brookes in 1861 and it gives her father as James. Think the occupation of James matches the 1861 census as well |
