Just to mention that freebmd has the marriage in 1845 as being in Kings Norton district, which was part of Worcestershire, not Staffordshire. |

Yes, West Bromwich straddles Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Warwickshire which doesn't help. |

Also try Dudley archives. Finding records in this area can be a nightmare, as the county boundaries moved. At one time Dudley was a detached piece of Worcestershire completely surrounded by Staffordshire. |

I did think that his father could have died in a mining accident but I've looked at many of the mining accident sites but as yet haven't found a James Mountain listed as being killed. |

I did see that marriage and I believe there was a son Robert Harper Mountain b 1825 but I can't find head nor tail of the family after that date |
