Find Ancestors

looking for any military records for George shaw, of Ilkeston Derbyshire... born 1777, died in 1860, we found the census, but were told he was in the military, but cannot find any records, as they don't detail the place they came from, unless of course im looking wrong.... be grateful for any help on this he married a Millicent Jackson in 1801 at Ilkeston thankyou

George Shaw is a very common name, of course! Was he in the Army when he married? Did he have children and where were they born? Any idea how long he was in the Army? Any mention of Army Pensioner or similar, on the census entry?

George shaw children, were charlotte lott Ephraim. Benjamin james Phyllis taymar ..Isabella and caroline we do not know if he was married when he went in, or if he married before, I have no idea, I do appreciate you all looking I have looked through war records, ancestry military, but ran a dead end
