Find Ancestors

Looking any information on Claude Laing born in Ardersier inverness in 1901 and I think he died in 1957 in Hove in Sussex.
I can't find a marriage for him or any children.
Can anyone help.

For his birth cert and any possible marrige you would need Scotlands people which is a pay to view site, I think for the time he may have married you cant view the cert you have to buy it through the site.

Credits on SP will let you view and print the image of the original birth cert, but for the death cert you would have to buy a copy through SP.


So presumably she moved back to Scotland after Claude's death.

They had no children born in England / Wales.

Unfortunately on SP the mother's maiden name can't be factored in as a search term for births after 1854, and as Laing isn't an unusual name, it's impossible to know if they had any born in Scotland.

There were 2208 Laing births in Scotland 1926-45.
None of them had middle names Cavanagh or Herrity, which would have been a help.

Sarah's death cert might reveal family - depends who the informant was.
