I remember my mum buying 4711 - Eau de Cologne

It got dabbed on foreheads and wrists and behind the ears as a freshener from what I recall.

Dea Report 7 Nov 2010 17:05

I remember that too Cynths !!

It came in a sort of 'waxy' stick' !!

LK - Tia Maria (translates as 'Aunty Mary')

Wasn't that something you drank rather than something you 'dabbed on your 'ed' ??

Little lad is in hospital rather poorly in the days when parents couldnt stay all the time.
Little lad keeps saying to the nurses that he wanted to see his Aunty Mary, nurses kept saying ,sorry little lad but you will have to wait till visiting time, little lad keeps on asking to see his Aunty Mary and eventually the nurses cotton on when he wets the bed..!
He had been taught to ask to see Aunty Mary when needing the loo.

Read that somewhere amongst the things that nurses had written about.

Some parents ,honestly.
But maybe Aunty Mary had the only loo on the street?

When I was nursing in a London Hospital one of my peers from a sheltered background was bewildered by gentleman of the road being barrier nursed as he was asking for a Jimmy Riddle.

Do your pronounce Marie as
