Lame ducks? I have inherited 'Lame Duck Syndrome' from my dad.....he was always fighting for those who needed help. Genetics have a lot to answer for.


Hope the dentist's visit goes well. Does he live in Liverpool? If so, he will be well used to looking into the Mersey Tunnel on his way to work.

It is good that the antibiotics got it sorted - your Dentist sounds very nice but it still concerns me that you have to wait SSSoooo long when you have a problem.

I am obviously lucky to live in the right place and have a dentist who will, if needed, see me the same day !!

Well, Sylvia, at least the Tea Party got its wings clipped a bit - O'Connell, Sharron Angle and the California gazillionnaire all lost. Jerry Brown, can you imagine. Watched his speech -- he still sounds like an old hippie. A very rich and well-connected one, of course.

The whole O'Connell thing was most unfortunate. Michael Castle, the Republican member of Congress she defeated for the nomination, was a good guy who likely would have taken Biden's seat. Better a goodish Republican than some of the Democrats they have. Those people really just don't understand party politics. They'd have to look up "party discipline" in a foreign-language dictionary.

A few obscure ones I was interested in. I'd been reading about Rhode Island, where the Democrat was a corrupt right-winger just using the label to get elected, and he didn't -- the independent Republican who supports Obama did. But then there's Michigan, the state close to my southwestern Ontario home town that I know well, that has had a Canadian governor, a Democrat, until now. Of course the economy has collapsed, just like all the northern midwest industrial states. Let's see how they like right wing rule. Morons.


Back to your regularly scheduled noshing, now! Glad breakfast was okay, but Dea rummaging around in Sylvia's brand new kitchen in the dark, I dunno ...

I will have you know Janey - she 'hid' it in the Conservatory !!! - - I found it as I followed the delicious smells !! - I DID enjoy 'yours' a little later though !!
