Though that this might make you smile...

On July 20, 1969, as Commander of the APOLLO 11 Lunar Module, Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon.

His first words after stepping on the moon, “ That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” , were televised to earth and heard by millions

BUT just before he re-entered the Lander, he made the enigmatic remark .. “Good luck, Mr Gorsky”

Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet Cosmonaut.

However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American Space programs.

Over the years many people questioned Armstrong as to what the “Good luck, Mr Gorsky” statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled.

On July 5, 1995, in Tampa Bay, Florida, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26-year-old question, to Armstrong .

This time he finally responded. Mr Gorsky had died, so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question.

In 1938 when he was a kid in a small Midwest town, he was playing baseball with friends in the backyard. His friend hit the ball, which landed in his neighbour’s yard, by the bedroom window.

His neighbours were Mr & Mrs Gorsky.
As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs Gorsky shouting at Mr Gorsky
“Sex ! You want sex! You’ll get sex when the kid next door walks on the moon !

G'night all, enjoy the rest of your afternoon
After 1am here so I am off to bed.

Of course Gins

I sent two pm's to someone who was upset because of comments on his tread about duplicating.
The first one was a long and explaining what he should and not do and asking if he could give me more names privatly if he wished to trace his family.

The 2nd one was just giving him a couple of birth of poss aunts.
Why just open the 2nd one and not the 1st ?
He must be well confused with this rubbish I gave him

Hard to believe the replication of married couples names within the same surname

I've been fairly good ....... but one has to make allowances for my age of course!

Just watching the news broadcast about the killing of the magnificent stag - The Emporer of Exmoor - possibly by a trophy hunter. It is reckoned he stood about 9ft tall. What a sad end for such a fine creature. Can't say I feel quite the same about the death of Paul the Octopus!!

How's the fangs Fans????

Dea's a bit quiet - she could be eating of course. No surprise there then!

Hope Sylvs is getting on okay with her physio and it doesn't hurt her too much. No doubt we will soon find out.

Hi Cynths - I am here and I have also been very good - I have been quiet as it was little grandson's day here - we have only just taken him home, then I had to listen to the Archers to 'settle down' - What a shattering day, but VERY lovely !! - He is so tiring though !!

Not had time to eat yet, will go and rummage in the fridge in a minute !!

How is everyone else??

Dea x

Is Sylvs on yet, I hope she is not too worn out !!

I does not talk rubbish Gins.....well, not very often anyway. I thought it was very sad that that beautiful animal had been killed. So there :P

Dea, isn't it amazing how little ones can tire one out? I never think about the Archers in the week but listen to the omnibus (or part of it) on a Sunday whilst driving. Trouble is, I only get some of what's going on but am just managing to hang on.

Do you think Fans toothache has got the better of her?

Maybe she can't speak?????

YIPPEEEEEE.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...runs for cover

Dea

Dea Report 26 Oct 2010 19:52

You may well 'run for cover' Cynths - she will get you !!!!!!

Yes - they are very tiring - especially nowadays when I am not as 'young and fit' as I used to be.

Wouldn't be without them though - just looking at them makes my whole life worthwhile!
