Can't find anything on Samuel Turner yet. - Are you sure there is a Tree on Ancestry with him in it or are you just wanting to see if there is one?

There is this on Joseph:

Joseph Palmer
Birth: 12 Feb 1722 - Charminster, Dorset
Death: 1781 - Little Bredy, Dorset, England
Marriage: 3 May 1748 - Little Bredy, Dorset, England
Spouse: Jane White
F: William Palmer
M: Elizabeth Gillingham

It is from someone's tree but I can't get into the tree at the moment - It may have been removed or it may be a problem with the site - I will keep trying.

Gins

I think the Halstock one may be GOOD ---- see
email below recd Friday from opcdorset researcher

Any more Halstock --- Turners - there are some on pilotFS so will go there now

Thanks Thanks

A Samuel Turner born February 1718 at Halstock, son of William Turner . Halstock is in the Beaminster/Netherbury area - . It's a very tiny place with only a few hundred inhabitants, so perhaps Netherbury was the nearest large place. It was more important than Beaminster in former times. There were Turners there in 1600 , but there are no records on line. There were the following Joans baptised around 1721:

1717 Joan of John Hosford
1717 Joan of William Crabb
1721 Joanna of Charles Rendall
1725 Joanne of John Maber
1727 Joan of Mr. John Symes
1727 Joan of Isaac Day

The John Turner of 1742 was son of Samuel Turner
The Jonathan Turner of 1747 was son of Samuel and Joan Turner.

So the Halstock records may produce some results. Can you get the LDS films in Spain ?

I suppose there would be a Family Centre in a lar

Dont know about anyone else, but there seems to be a lot of activity going on with trees on ancestry at the moment.

I used to see the odd person added and the tree owner I knew to be related. This week there has been all sorts where someone has copied everything including stealing photos and war records for people that are not directly related to him, to others adding my ancestors just because it fits with names and dates. The fact its the wrong part of the country does'nt matter.

I have been reading that - not sure here or on Rootschat - some one was trying to ask how to get back copies of birth cert/ photos etc -

and as you say - some not even correct -

it is a problem -

If I knew what I know now when I started - I would not have given access quite so freely

I know I have asked for info - but would never add it - is just another line of names to check out - I am lucky as Dorset opc s are superb -and cill check out anything you ask - my main man who has helped me immensely goes to the History centre in Dorset once a month ans looks up any record thats has not been transcribed ---- he the best

My tree on Ancestry is private due someone adding my grandparents names to his tree once.
But I sent him many messages asking for them to be taken off as we were not in the slightest related and wrote comments all over his tree also and he took my grandparents names (with totally wrong details of their marriage ,death and children),off his tree...sharpish
I am very careful who I let see my full tree and want to know exact connection first.

jax Report 25 Oct 2010 14:33

This person took the details from someone elses I would think because she was the one with the photos. She has my grandfather but fair enough our grandfathers were brothers, this blokes only relationship to this part of the family is that his gt grandmother and our gt grandmother were sisters, so our line is not related at all...so why have photos of our family? b&$$£y name collectors
