Yes Sylvia, I've certainly realised that since I've been reading the many and varied postings on here! I guess I fit that bill OK.

my mother's parents used to look after me occasionally on a Friday or Saturday night.

I'd be about 3 or 4

One of them used to walk up to the off-licence at the top of the street with a jug in hand

We all sat around the table in the kitchen cum living room, and granddad would have the jug on the floor by his side, hidden by the tablecloth


They quite often gave me an eggcup full of the "good stuff", occasionally more than one


Dad didn't realise until I told him about 20+ years later ............. he and Mum thought her parents were teetotallers



but they did notice that I would sleep very well after I'd been over the road to the grandparents!
