Hi everyone

a sunny day today ... another lovely Fall day.

Renes ........... I have a recipe for Pomegranate Jelly .... but have never tried making it!

Have the Celebration of Life for G this afternoon ...... I think there are now only 3 or 4 of the ones of the department's "generation" above OH who are still alive now.

Well...JB says he will make dinner. So the next 10 questions from him are about what to cook etc

We decided on simple vegi burgers and salad but they want french fries too

OK I say..next question, how many burgers do you want...I only ever have one

Do you want fat chips or french fries....I never have either

Do you want butter on your bread roll....I never have butter, I have mayo

Do you want cheese on your burger...I ALWAYS have cheese on my burger

Next question just when I thought there could be no more...which trays shall I use

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

ITS EASIER TO COOK IT MY BL##DY SELF

Been google route over last 8 years - wanted something inspired or actually tried

The tradition here is adding them to fried breadcrumbs with either fried green peppers on top - or Sardine or Anchovies - often served as tapas

Might try a pomegranate jelly though

Is that Jam to us or that wobbly stuff we have with ice cream?

Renes

Renes Report 19 Oct 2010 18:27

Ginny

The sage in the Yorkie was inspired - we both loved it - ***** reccomendation

Jax. Used Jamies 1 mug recipe - but doubled it as for toad in hole - worked quite well - one of my better attempts

Think I actually put too much mix in my tin will try again

Renes

Renes Report 19 Oct 2010 18:29

Jax ---- " wobbly stuff " with ice cream - sounds like my little ones

Made cups of proper fruit jelly here one fiesta day for the kids - put into plastic cups - made 50 - over 40 thrown away - the other 10 half eaten

Now know that Jelly is not a universal kids treat

Gee Report 19 Oct 2010 18:51

Glad the Yorkies went down well Renes....did you use onion too?

Yep, dont put too much batter in the tin...about half full is the norm and make sure its not too thick

The questions about dinner are still coming, so Ive took myself off the sofa and am making 'busy'

Sighs.....how come I dont have to ask him anything when I cook.....

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 19 Oct 2010 18:55

Cos he wont moan about what and how you have cooked?
But you will?

Renes

Renes Report 19 Oct 2010 19:10

Yes lots of onion - have a slight glut of onions at moment

But the sage was wonderful - even OH said

This is good - what's in it ?

It was my sage I had dried -

Great success - definitely on my repertoire now

Most of the Yorkie rose up - the edges superb - thought I put in a bit much - but difficult to scoop out - will use same recipe - with a bigger pan next time

Will never cook without the sage and onion again - would be happy to eat the savoury Yorkshire with my roasted veg and onion gravy

On a faceless plate !!!!!!

It was that good

You will have to post a more tips with herbs - I love herbs ( not spices )

I love oregano - any different suggestions

Renes

Yes - probably had a greater success with cups of Vodka -

They just had no conception of Jelly

Ha ha Dea....
I want some from Burma...any tips.

Are they likely to be on FMP overseas BMDS.

Renes

Renes Report 19 Oct 2010 19:58

Dea
 It's Ginny s recipe -
I used 2 larges onions finely chopped - used half in base of pan with sausages - added I teaspoon of sage into oilive in pan as well

The other onion and juice from chopping board and 4 teaspoons of sage I put in the batter mix -  whilst it was doing it's 40 min sitting

Then whisked it up again before pouring over sausages sage onion and olive oil pan

Wonderful - did not actually need the sausages

Had a third onion caramelized for the gravy
Onion is good for prostate - we eat onions every day

Also my own dried Sage - not that finely crushed - so possibly not as strong as commercially dried
