Irene -- I'm a left-side sleeper and pretty immobile too. Last year when I asked my ophphththalmologhist about droopy eyelid surgery -- he does that too -- and when I might be far enough gone to have the health plan cover it -- he said did I sleep on my left side. That's the droopiest side (it's obviously genetic overall). Yes. Well, he said, stop.

I thought that was helpful. ;)

THEY might not notice you creeping out with a torch

Oh, and this morning before waking up, I was having a dream about sharks.

A tank with sharks in it. One of them getting out ... and looking more like a big crocodile ... and my sister nudging at its huge mouth full of teeth and letting on like it was some kind of harmless pet. Then there was a cat with a dog head that was supposedly dangerous, and also called a shark, and it got out and was chasing lots of cats ... and all this was because No.1 pitched a fit about the feral cat feeding last night.

Anyway, this shark dream just got sillier and finally I woke up. I'd fallen asleep with the TV on, and at 7:30 a.m. the channel I'd had on had infomercials. The one yelling at me from the screen when I woke up was about a hand-held clothes steamer ... called THE SHARK.

Aaargh.

yeah, JC, a very helpful opthalmologist (however you spell that bloomin' word!)

I also sleep on my left side until I wake up at about 5 am ..... then I have to turn over

I have to sleep with a pillow between my knees

Does anyone know what kind of entanglements you can get into when you try to turn over with the pillow still in place??????

You know, this thread is just the best example I've seen of why we need threaded threads ... so some of us don't sound like we're talking to ourselves. ;)

Complete waste of time for them and me, if HID cannot get any sort of job and he is sort of fit and healthy, what are they going to find for me?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarggggghhh sounds about right!!

That was some dream JC!

This morning, I woke up in the middle of being on the doctor's couch, having gone to see him because my knee was sore ......... so he'd got a scalpel, cut a line across my thigh, and was suctioning something out

all this without saying a word to me

Then another doctor came in, I asked him why they were doing it ...... and he said "because it is too firm and healthy looking"

and then I woke up!!

OH has come home very upset today.
He has had to do an emergency referral for a 6 month old baby with a probable cancer of the eye.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 18 Oct 2010 23:00

Nooo, no elective surgery surgery for me. There's a point at which the health plan will cover it, but I'll probably be dead first. ;)

Sylvia, boasting in your dreams. Nice.

LK -- is it the one that's seen in newborns? Google ... retinoblastoma. That's an awful one, and I think it usually results in loss of the eye. Oh, nope -- a cancerhelp UK page says it's curable in 90% of children. Although that might not mean actually saving the eye, dunno.

LadyKira

LadyKira Report 18 Oct 2010 23:04

That is the one JC

Not nice at all.

Renes Report 18 Oct 2010 23:05

I used to have horrific nightmares and in a conversation with my GP - in passing - just mention it to him

He said that's easy to cure - just say to yourself as you go to sleep - It's a nightmare wake up Irene - over and over

From then on when I had a nightmare I would here someone saying - It's a nightmare wake up Irene - and I would wake up

Crazy I know

- but have not nightmare for donkey years
