Hey no need to apologise.
It is interesting. I just thought it would be easier for Trace to read.

Tracey found some for the one on my tree.
He was also hanged at Maidstone gaol by William Marwood.

No Julie,

You are most welcome on here - I just think that LK is saying that your questions and replies will get 'lost' within all the many posts on here and will be difficult to follow.

If you start a seperate thread on TTF board then all the info will be kept together and will be easier to follow and to work on.

It is all extremely interesting !!

WOW ! Ginny

Great find. Well done

So it would seem that who ever wrote the newspaper article got the name wrong.

It should have been Samuel and not William.

As it is heading for 2am, I can now relax and go to bed.
Thank you very much for clearing up the confusion about his name.

Gee

Gee Report 17 Oct 2010 15:41

It looks that way...just a little over sight!

If you want the document I can email it to you if you PM your addy

The details are very clear and there's no mistaking the name

Edit; The reporter also got the age wrong...was he on drugs or what!

Just to add the final spanner in to the works re murderer Seager

I have just read a cutting where he is names as

James Seager 29 - indicted for the murder of Hannah Giles
also
Samuel Seager 40 - a shoemaker - widow with 2 children charged with the murder - local bobby found evidence - shoe wax on knife

Hanged - as reported in the
Dover Telegraph

SEAGER William Hanging Maidstone Wretched Man 1839 30-Mar 4 3
SEAGER William Hanging Maidstone Report 1839 30-Mar 8 4

Have sent Julie 6 or 7 cuttings now so she can analyse the reports -
