And because I drank 3 pints when I got up at 4am this morning I now cannot stop piddling!

And no....not pints of beer...water. Which reminds me of a friend of mine years ago. She was quite suprised that I took a glass of water to bed every night.....

...........she took a can of Stella

I have just read a really gruesome inquest on poor Hannah Giles at
THE OTTERDEN MURDER .
The Morning Chronicle (London, England), Thursday, February 14, 1839; Issue 21604. on 19th Century British Library - naming him as Samuel Seager - will search on

Cynthia..

As you love the Medway City Ark registers, this one is just for you ( and anyone else who would care to look)

I have a Sarah BILLS baptised 10 April 1831, at Allhallows.
Parents were Richard & Eleanor.

On census records Eleanor was listed as Ellen.

Found Baptism for Eliza BILLS 25 May 1834, Allhallows.
Parents Richard & Ellen

According to census records there should also have been a William b. c1838 and a Christopher b. c1843.

On the 1841, 1851 & 1861 census 'Ellen' is with children Plus a James CHAMBERS

At no time is Richard Bills listed with them.

To me this could indicate that Christopher is actually the son of James Chambers ... ?

But what happened to Richard... and when ??

Hi Ginny,

I am fairly certain that it is 'my' Richards christening and I will make a note of the death... but if that is 'my' Richard why can I not find him on the 1841 census.

Have tried under Bills, Bells & Balls.... ??

Maybe not then as there are other Hills here and I know they seperated the families up in the workhouse..men, women and children

Mind you the adult Sarah is too young to have one of those children?

Thanks for trying Ginny

This is 'my' family in 1841...

1841 England Census about Ellen Bills
Name: Ellen Bills
Age: 35
Estimated birth year: abt 1806
Gender: Female

Civil parish: All Hallows
Hundred: Hoo
County/Island: Kent
Country: England

Street Address: Slough
Occupation: -

Registration district: Hoo
Sub-registration district: Hoo
Household Members: Name Age
James Chambers 50 .. Ag. Lab
Ellen Bills 35
Sarah Bills 10
Eliza Bills 7

Next to Ellen's name (in occupation column) is Widow, but this has been crossed out

Either because she was not a widow or because being a widow was not an occupation ??

Ellen was not born in the Parish, but born at Southend, Essex.

Thanks Cynthia.

I know you just wanted to make the page extra wide

From what I can work out, Robert Bills was my Richards brother.

I have the approx. year of birth for his children from census records, but not the Baptism date, so thank you.

It is William and Christopher that I am having trouble with.

1822. George, son of George and Eleanor.

1824. Robert, son of William and Phillis.

Do you just want details or do you prefer the link??

Gotta go......arghhhh.

Julcoe

Julcoe Report 16 Oct 2010 13:52

Thank you for what you have found.

That Christopher is the same C. who's birth I am looking for.

According to the census records he has children...
William, 1871 which you have found, plus ? Agnes 1873 ; Elizabeth, 1878 ;
Can not find them in 1891, but on 1901 there is also May 1888 and 'Winnie' 1898

I have 'cut & pasted' the link for William, and I can get to the Medway site but the record page will not open ??
The other pages worked ok, so I could get the actual dates for them.

Will try again later, maybe the site is just busy.. ??

But maybe the details would be better in case I can not get 'in'
