Ginny

you are right - if I could not buy my meat prepared for the pan - I could not kill it - or watch it being killed -I would try and stop the killing
I can shoot well at targets - but could not shoot a rat on my bird - from my bedroom window

Good grief, now am I to take that effusive effusiveness seriously?!

See, Cynthia, that's all I ask in return for my time. ;) Anyhow, like I said, I'm just killing time til 6pm. Your guilt button must be worse then mine. Me, I just hate asking people to help find something because all they ever do is find things I already have, or find stuff that has no connection at all ... or drag their own Ernest Hill-s into my Ernest Hill thread ... where is that AuntySherlock, anyway?? She had told me by email she'd be back in September. Well, I guess it's getting hot there now, awwwww.

No, that's not true, anyhow. People have found one of my annoying grx3 grfathers marrying in Scotland, and on another site another grx3 grfather (yes, Hill) being baptised in Devon, and various other delectable tidbits. In among the spare Ernest Hill-s.

Better thee than me there, jax. I just can't stand this "yes that tallies with what I had". Just can't stand it. WHY DID YOU NOT SAY WHAT YOU HAD?? -- even if it is just from somebody else's possibly moronic tree, just say that.

Jax

Bet she is checking trees like a woman possessed

I had a look at some of my contacts trees from a couple of years ago - and where as I had village name - confirmed dob from parish register via OPC - they just had County name and from Sheila or Susan tree - and circa dob

I am no expert but - all it would have taken is a bit of time searching online parish registers and an email -

some may as well ask on TTF as any one got a Gedcom

Renes has been finding family info for me, but when I showed her the article which I found, she thought that you lot might also like to read it....

March 28th
28/3/1839
William Seager – Otterden, Kent

Aware that his affair with the local rat-catcher’s wife was causing a scandal and that there was no long-term future in it for him, William Seager, 40, a shoemaker of Otterden, Kent, killed his lover and left her dead in the snow.
She was Mrs. Hannah Giles, also 40. Her throat was cut and she had been shot. Her body was found by three children who she was supposed to be baby-sitting and who had gone to look for her. Terrified, the children ran back home and locked themselves in their house until their parents returned at 2 a.m.
Seager fled towards London but was arrested on the way. He was found guilty of murder and hanged on Thursday, March 28th, 1839, outside Maidstone Prison.

Not sure that I want to claim him as a relative, but Renes has only found one baptism record to match and I can not discount that yet.

Hi Julcoe

I'm jealous!

I only have lace makers and ag labs in my tree

even a rat catcher would make a difference!

Yeah, but a murderer !

As an Australian we are quite proud to claim convicts in our trees, but all mine were transported for theft.

Not sure that I want a murderer.

will make a lovely conversation opener at a party!!!

OH allegedly has a murder vicitm in his tree, only I haven't yet found it

.............. story is that he went to market to sell his cow, then was murdered and the money stolen while he was on his way home.

I don't even have a time period, let alone which name line he was in!

Lovely brekkie - especially the chefs tatties

Even Dee cannot eat that lot - and Dee no takeaways for later

28/03/1839 William Seager 40 Kent Hanged at Maidstone Victim Hannah Giles

I found this one - the village is less than 2 miles from Julies ancestors

Name: Wm Seager
Baptism : 29 Dec 1799 Otterden, Kent,
s/o John Seager and Angelica

But - Julie found 2 entries for William, b. c1798, Otterden, on census the 1871 & 1881 records and a death in 1883

I have 4 more William s - 1 at Offham July 1802 - and 2 1804 Maidstone and 1 Sept 1798 Deptford

I cannot find any more in Kent ---

Can someone see if Ancestry have any more please

Would so like to give him to Julie --------

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 16 Oct 2010 09:27

Poor Julie has enough to cope with......aw.....but, like Sylvia, I'm a bit jealous. Ag labs are so boring!

Mind you, LK and I share, somewhat tenuously by marriage, a rellie who killed his lover and whose father was allegedly a child abuser!

If you have rellies in the Medway area, please, please, please let me get to the Medway City Ark registers before that Renes does! I have a thing about MCA and can wizz through them in no time at all.......

Lovely breakfast Sylvia thank you. Got down before Dea so managed to grab something!

Fans and her Bezzie are too busy nattering to eat. Mind you, has she got up from grovelling to our Janey yet I ask myself? There's effusive and then there's effusive you big daft 'apporth! I take it you were pleased then? lol

Oh well. Another Saturday looms. Might make a rice pudding.

Yuummmmy Breakfast Sylvs !

I only had 2 lots today as there will be more people in, I expect, as it is the weekend.

See... I CAN be thoughtful!

Looks like everyone is 'tucking in'

Renes..... I am a bit worried about this new 'Dee' person - Is she likely to start coming in early and taking it all for herself?

You mentioned her above:

"Even Dee cannot eat that lot - and Dee no takeaways for later "

You have got me worried now.. (tee hee).

Next it will be that Dea singing in the shower - what a racket. Poor Gins.
