Harriet and Edward Lees are alive and well in 1881 with a load of offspring, so not her. ;) (Could still be the Lees-Bradley marriage some other way.) |

I came to the conclusion of the bradley - lees marriage but then i sent off for John's birth certificate and it came back as Harriet Bradley formarly Potter. Would maiden names be given on a death certificate because i can send off for Harriet's????? |

If Harriet had been previously married, this possible marriage would certainly be consistent with son Henry's birth: |

Given the gap between Mary and John, I might suspect that Henry and Harriett only got together during that gap, and the older children belong to one or the other of them, but not both. So Harriett could have had a previous marriage, and in fact still been married to a first husband, precluding a marriage to Henry. Ditto Henry, of course. |

When my great grandfather John Bradley (b.1883) married he put his father (henry) down as been a firewood hawker, is this the same as a chip chopper???? Still none the wiser as to Harriet Potter though???? |

Can't speak for anybody else, but I just can't reproduce your 1891 results! I'm looking at Ancestry. They may be mistranscribed somehow. |

I have Henry and Harriet together on the 1891 census in Holbeck, Leeds along with there children, Henry, Mary, John and Albert. They are living in a caravan. On the 1901 census Henry is widowed and i think Harriet died about 1898. |

Do you have them together anywhere in a census? I've had no luck in 71 or 81 ... or 91. |
