Frederick or ( Edwin) Hills- I am trying to find information. My Grandfather Edwin Frank Hills came to NZ in 1906, but left two sister and family in the UK. Sisters Harriet Florence Hills b. 1885 and Ethel Maud Hills b1890. Think Harriet married a Sawyer and Ehtel married a Lyle. Would love some information. Think my great grandfather was Frederick or Edwin and Great grandmother Catherine (Kate) Bishop.

I am unable to find a marriage for frederick to catherine but there are a few spouses missing for the frederick hills marriages of about the right time on ,,freeBMD,,

It was after 1881 census was taken on the 3rd april that year as he was with his mother and single on the 1881 census which is free to search.

They are in the same grave in Kaeo Cemetery.
They had at least four children from 1908 to 1915.

Winifred MILLER. born 12. Oct. 1912. not born in NZ.
She died 22.March 2011/ref;7217.

She married 1952/folio 3170.
Harold Adolph LAMBERG, 1904-1967.

I think in any case Glenys knows about the family in NZ (her family) and was looking for relations in England

more records are available now than in 2009 so if Glenys does receive a message from Howard she might like to continue this thread, if she has not found that info by now

thank you to those who have assisted and added comments above-all are relevant and appreciated. Yes I am in NZ so have a pretty good handle on the NZ family, but have been trying to sort out the English side...still working full time so not enough time to follow up leads, but retirement looms! :-)

that child has a family tree here at genesreunited with Frederick 1919 in their tree (as does someone else) and also has

but the actual birth seems to be

you and one other member have Ethel in your family trees as born 1890 Bedfordshire ... however her birth was registered early in 1890 so could she have been born in 1889? ... one person has her in their tree with that date and place of birth ... do you know both those people?

one of the people who has Frederick Lyle in their tree also has William Penfold
