I went to ancestry, entered Fox in surname, Oxfordshire in county of residence and Ducklington in Civil Parish


This is the only record that came up.



This is pure GUESSWORK ........ you should ge that marriage certificate to see if the name of John's father is on there!

I found him on the 1861 Census, with wife Martha, living in Berkshire, and working as Baker in Biscuit Factory.

This agrees with the wife Martha on the 1871 Census as found by Snapdragon.

There is only one John Fox marrying a Martha between 1851 and 1861 showing on www.freebmd.org.uk

Does anyone have any information about the parents of John Fox born about 1821 in Ducklington who subsequently became a successful baker in Oxford. Have tried all usual methods of discovery. Have I missed something?
