Hi, Am new to this, I am trying to trace my grandfathers brother that went to live in newzealand in the early 1900s, His name was Edgar Thorpe born 1893.Marylebone, london. His father was Edgar, Charles , Herbert, Thorpe born 1872 and his mother was Augusta Thorpe. on the 1911 census he was not living with his parents . I dont know how to go about finding out when he left England or what hapened to him in newzealand , i have a copy of a old photo he sent his mother and father of him in his Free masons uniform. ( his father was also in the free masons ) but thats all i know any help or advice please, thank you in advance Paul

Thats a bad start by me yes you are right Dee i got the wrong D.O.B typing eror , you have the right details but they spelt my gr, grand mothers name wrong should have been AUGUSTA . Thanks for quick reply, ATB Paul

Edgar Herbert John Thorpe married to Eileen Ruth Ryder reg no 1919/7060. Im assuming they married 1919 because you are only allowed to search up to 1929

My Grandfather died in 1979 the same year as his wife Eileen, they had one son Edgar Frank John Thorpe (John), born May 1931 my father, he married my mother Eileen in 1955 and had 2 girls, my sister and myself (Judith).
Both my parents are alive and would be very interested in having contact with you regarding the English side of the family, we do not know very much about my grand fathers family.
