Find Ancestors

Interested in communicating with anyone with Hearn Gypsy/Traveller ancestors. My family travelled mainly Middlesex, Bucks, Berks and Kent. Had unusual, often biblical names such as Mullinder/Elizabeth, Mark/Lucy, Emmanual/Sinnamenti, Samson/Richender, Dorcas, Myrenny to name but a few! Mine settled in Chiswick, W. London in the early 1900s while many settled around Ruislip, Middx. I am a founder member of the Romany & Traveller Family History Society which has members worldwide and now have contact with distant relatives in Canada, Australia etc., Interested in anything relating to Gypsies/Travellers.

I am especially looking for information relating to my g.grandfather Methuselah Hearn who had sons William John b. c.1902, Samuel, Emmanual and George. Any information sought.

Apparently Emmanueal Hearn (Methuselah's father) died in the first quarter of 1899.

Cannot currently locate Methuselah as of 1901 but will keep looking. Hope this is of use for now.

Hello, this is a bit of an offshoot from my direct family but I am interested in it. I had a Mary Elizabeth Stevens who married a Frederick Hearn born 1885 (her second husband) in 1907. He appears to be the son of Josiah Hearn and Roseanna Lavender. There seemed to be a lot of Lavender families around Ruislip which is where Frederick was born. There appears to be missing info on him in the census returns for various years. I have found a birth date for Josiah (but this could be incorrect) 19 May 1839 but the later census returns show him to be born in 1844. Any help would be appreciated.
